We all know it's stressful to find a reputable LICENSED and INSURED GC here in South Florida. Thus why it took us about 4 weeks of meeting and vetting GCs (none were great) until we found Colby and North2South Renovations. Beyond happy that we did! From the first call with Colby until our full house renovation was completed, he has been honest, fair, extremely knowledgeable and accomodating. He has employees, NOT SUBs, employees that work for and WITH him. All of his employees are very skilled and experts at what they each do. Colby also has a dedicated tile guy, stone guy, glass guy and an electrician! No subbing out! The employees and the dedicated trade individuals have worked for Colby collectively for well over 10 years! This is huge in South Florida! Our full house renovation included 2 new bathrooms, all new floor tile throughout the house (they removed old tile first and did this the correct way), new kitchen with island, new shaker baseboards and new shaker doors, plus lots more. Painting, detail work - These men do it all! This full house renovation only took 60 days! We could not be happier and feel Colby is the # 1 GC in South Florida! Pictures attached show his work, you can also find his videos on Instagram and FB.Read full review

Colby did a great job on our home remodel. He was super communicative, professional, and really hardworking. Even on his off days, he still answered our questions and made sure we felt good about everything. I really appreciated the way he understood our vision and gave helpful insight along the way. I’d definitely recommend Colby to anyone looking for solid remodeling work.Read full review

Colby and his team couldn't have been more helpful and professional helping with our duplex renovation. It being my first reno job, Colby went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I was up to speed and knew everything i needed, and helped me avoid more than a few pricey newbie mistakes. Can't say enough about the quality of their work, the quality of their team and the incredible efficiency they operate with.Read full review

Boca Raton contractor questions

Still have a question? Call (561) 664-3256
Is North2South Renovations a licensed contractor in Florida?

Yes. North2South Renovations is a Florida state-certified building contractor, License #CBC1269429. A state certification allows us to work in any city or county in Florida, and you can verify the license and its status on the Florida DBPR website at myfloridalicense.com.

Who issues building permits in Boca Raton?

Inside city limits, permits are issued by the City of Boca Raton Building Department, which handles applications and inspection scheduling through its Boca eHub portal. Many homes with a Boca Raton mailing address west of the city, including much of West Boca, are in unincorporated Palm Beach County, where the county issues permits. We confirm jurisdiction for your address before anything is filed.

Can you remove a load-bearing wall in my home?

Yes. Opening up a kitchen or living area is one of our most common structural projects. A load-bearing wall change needs a beam sized by a licensed engineer, signed and sealed plans, a building permit and inspections. We coordinate the engineer, the permit and temporary shoring, then build to the approved plans.

Do you use licensed subcontractors?

Yes. Florida requires electrical, plumbing and mechanical work to be performed by contractors licensed in those trades. We schedule, supervise and check their work as part of your project, so you have one point of contact instead of managing several companies yourself.

Do I also need HOA or condo approval?

Often, yes. Many Boca Raton communities require architectural or alteration approval before work starts, separate from the building permit. We prepare the association package with plans, scope and license and insurance documents, and build the review time into your schedule. Learn more on our Permits & HOA/Condo Approvals page.

How long does a permitted remodel take?

It depends on the scope. Design and permitting often take several weeks before construction starts, and structural or condo projects can take longer because of engineering and association review. We give you a written timeline that includes permitting and inspections before you sign.
