Remodeling a Chapel Hill Home

Location
East Boynton Beach
Homes
Mid-century to new builds
Lots
Larger lots, some canal-front
Community
Established, not gated

Unlike the gated communities to the west, Chapel Hill’s homes vary widely in age and style, which makes every remodel different. North2South Renovations takes on everything from updating a 1950s or 1960s ranch home to finishing out a newer custom build, including the electrical, plumbing and structural upgrades older homes often need along the way.

As a licensed Florida general contractor (License #CBC1269429) with 15 years of remodeling experience across Palm Beach County, we handle design, permits and construction with one point of contact.

Many original Chapel Hill homes date back to the late 1950s and 1960s. They have great bones and big lots, but often come with closed-off kitchens, small bathrooms, older electrical panels, galvanized or cast-iron plumbing and layouts that don’t match how families live today. A remodel here is often about opening up the floor plan while bringing hidden systems up to current Florida Building Code.

Chapel Hill is not a gated, master-planned community, and many homes have no HOA, which gives homeowners more freedom with design. Permits are handled by the local building department. Most of the neighborhood is within the City of Boynton Beach, and we confirm the jurisdiction for your address before your estimate.

Colby and his team at North2South Renovations are the best choice for remodeling and renovation in Delray Beach — and all of South Florida across the board! Not just in the quality of their work, but their quality as people. As a young, single, woman homeowner, I hesitated to hire any professional contractors and was nervous to allow them into my home. I struggled finding someone I could trust, and did most of the work by myself for the first 4 years. I was referred to North2South by friends, and I only wish I met Colby and his team sooner! At all times, myself, my roommate, AND my pets all felt comfortable and happy to have Colby’s team — Brian, Caiden, Chad, and Scotty working on our home. From the first consult, I could tell he is very passionate about the work, quality, and making the clients’ dreams come to life. This is not one of those companies where the GC is this illusory figure who is hard to reach, and subcontracts out everything, or who only shows up when convenient for him. Colby was there every step of the way, making sure everything went smoothly from designing, permitting, reconfiguring, demo, installation, coordinating deliveries, and more. On top of it all, the prices are very fair, and you can tell he cares more about producing quality work and the name of the company he’s built than just making money. I absolutely LOVE my new ceiling, windows, and countertops. I would absolutely recommend North2South to anyone who’s looking for the best kitchen, bathroom, or whole home renovation in Delray Beach, FL and greater Palm Beach County area. I would and hopefully WILL gladly hire them again.Read full review

I live in an attached villa in Delray Beach built in 1990. I wanted to improve my whole kitchen and the outer area in my master bath. Having never done this before I set out to find a company to do the job. After a few calls to friend’s referrals, it felt as if it was too small a job to warrant much attention from them, basically they ignored me because business is booming nowRead full review

I recently had my master bathroom completely renovated by North 2 South Renovations, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. From the very beginning, Colby, the founder, was an exceptional communicator. He was responsive, professional, and offered thoughtful suggestions that really helped bring the vision together. His guidance made decision-making so much easier, and it was clear he genuinely cared about the end result. His team—Brian, Chad, Leo, Scotty, and Caden were outstanding. Each one of them took tremendous pride in their workmanship, and it showed in every detail. They were consistently on time, worked efficiently, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right. It’s rare to find a crew that is not only skilled, but also so respectful and considerate. They treated my home with care, always covering furniture and protecting surrounding areas, which I truly appreciated. You could tell they respected the space as if it were their own. The transformation of my 30-year-old bathroom is incredible. The finished product exceeded my expectations, and the quality of the work speaks for itself. They truly went the extra mile in every aspect of the project. If you’re looking for a company that is professional, reliable, and delivers beautiful results, I highly recommend North 2 South Renovations. I am beyond thrilled with my new bathroom.Read full review

Do I need a permit to remodel my Chapel Hill home?

Yes, for most kitchen and bathroom remodels and any structural, electrical or plumbing work. Most of Chapel Hill is within the City of Boynton Beach, which runs its own building department. As your licensed general contractor (License #CBC1269429), we confirm the jurisdiction for your address and handle the full permit process, from application to final inspection.

Is there an HOA I need approval from?

Many Chapel Hill homes are not part of an HOA, which is one reason homeowners like the neighborhood. If your street or subdivision does have an association or deed restrictions, we will help you prepare whatever approval it requires before work begins.

What should I expect when remodeling an older Chapel Hill home?

Homes from the 1950s and 1960s often have outdated electrical panels, galvanized or cast-iron plumbing and non-impact windows. We look for these during the walkthrough and price the needed upgrades upfront, so they don’t turn into surprises once the walls are open.

Can you remove walls to open up my floor plan?

Often, yes. Many mid-century homes have walls that can be removed or replaced with a beam to open the kitchen to the living area. We coordinate the structural engineering and permits so the change is done safely and to code.

How much does a remodel cost in Chapel Hill?

Most bathroom renovations range from $15,000–$45,000+ and kitchen remodels from $30,000–$75,000. Whole-home renovations typically run $150–$400+ per square foot. Older homes that need electrical or plumbing upgrades will land higher, and we identify those costs upfront.

Do you work in other east Boynton neighborhoods?

Yes. We remodel homes throughout Boynton Beach, from the Intracoastal neighborhoods to the city’s 55+ and country club communities. Visit our Boynton Beach remodeling page to see the areas we serve.
